Product Description
The Thima Bougainvillea (often spelled Thimma) is a popular, exotic ornamental climber known for its vibrant, papery bracts and high-density blooming cycles. It is widely grown in tropical and subtropical regions like India as an outdoor garden or container plant.
KEY FEATURES
APPEARANCE: Features colorful paper-like bracts (commonly mistaken for petals) in shades of pink, white, peach, or red, often paired with attractive variegated green and cream leaves.
GROWTH HABIT: Can be trained as a climbing vine on trellises, fences, walls, and pergolas, or pruned back hard into a bushy shrub.
CLIMATE: Thrives in hot, sunny climates and loves heat (ideal daytime temperatures between 25°C to 35°C).
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
SUNLIGHT: Requires at least 5 to 6 hours of direct sunlight daily for optimal and heavy flowering.
WATERING: Drought-tolerant once established. Water deeply only when the top 1 to 2 inches of soil feel completely dry; overwatering causes root rot.
SOIL: Needs loose, fertile, and very well-draining soil mix (such as a mix of garden soil, sand, and organic compost).
PRUNING: Prune weak stems or hard-trim after every major bloom cycle to stimulate fresh new growth and heavier flushes of flowers.
