Product Description
The Chiang Mai Mango (often associated with premium Thai varieties like Mahachanok or Red Ivory) is a highly prized exotic mango plant originating from Thailand. It is widely celebrated by home gardeners and commercial farmers alike for its stunning visual appearance, exceptional sweetness, and heavy-yielding nature.
Key Fruit Characteristics
Appearance: The fruits are distinctive, featuring an elongated, curved shape. As they mature under direct sunlight, the skin develops a gorgeous, vibrant rosy-pink to deep red blush over a yellowish-orange base.
Size: A single mature fruit can grow exceptionally long (up to 10–12 inches) and can weigh between 1 kg to 1.2 kg.
Flavor & Texture: The golden inner flesh is incredibly juicy, sweet, and completely fiberless with a smooth, buttery texture and an intense tropical aroma.
Seed: It features a remarkably thin seed (stone), which ensures a very high proportion of edible flesh relative to the total fruit weight.
Plant Growth & Cultivation
Height: Fully matured trees reach a manageable height of 4 to 6 meters. Because of its dwarfing potential on certain rootstocks, it is highly suitable for backyard farming, terrace gardens, and large container pots.
Season: The plant typically initiates flowering during late winter to early spring, with the prized fruits ripening for harvest throughout the summer months.
Essential Care Instructions
Sunlight: Requires full, direct sunlight (minimum 6 hours daily). The intensity of the stunning red skin color is directly dependent on the amount of sunlight the hanging fruit receives.
Climate: Thrives exceptionally well in warm tropical and subtropical conditions, making it perfectly adapted to Indian climatic zones.
Soil & Water: Prefers rich, fertile, and well-draining soil. While the plant needs regular watering during its active growing phase, it is vital to avoid waterlogging. Always let the topsoil dry out completely before watering again.
Primary Care: Protect the plant by pruning dead or damaged branches. Treat minor pest attacks or fungal issues using organic solutions like neem oil spray.
